Frequently Asked Questions
Does converting change the quality?
Any decode-and-re-encode loses some detail. WebP and JPEG are lossy, PNG is lossless, and transparency is dropped when you convert to JPG because that format has no alpha channel.
Will animated GIFs stay animated?
No. The browser canvas decodes a single frame, so an animated file converts to its first frame. The page says so when it detects multiple frames.
